I got to be there when my little girl died - weirdly, I consider that a true gift from above. She didn't have to be alone.

That time in my life was terrible. It's everything you think it would be times about a billion. I love that kid. I loved being her mother and I loved watching her grow into this incredibly beautiful person, both inside and out. She was such a gift to me. To have it all ripped away so suddenly broke me.

Her name was Kindle. Honest to goodness - it was her name and she died a few weeks before Amazon released their brand new Kindle ereader. She had no idea it was coming out and she would have finally gotten her name on something! Try finding a ruler with the name Kindle on it.. It never happened.

Through the course of that crippling event I was lucky enough to begin to write with a dear friend in the fan fiction world of Facebook. She got me through those dark days with her unwavering support and friendship. There wasn't a time she wasn't there for me. Sometimes together and sometimes by myself, we built a world where Kindle lives and stands for peace, love and harmony. It's its own kind of support group. I know without question I wouldn't be here today without her.

I received the ARC for my honest review so here’s my thoughts:

First of all you have to read the first book, Havoc first since this one continues directly after it and let me tell you, after reading Havoc i was left crazy anxious to read the second book and i’m so glad Order did not disappoint

Key and Alec seem absolutely wrong for each other on the outside what with one of them being a full member of a biker gang and the other an attorney working under the crazy lady trying to take down said biker gang but from the moment they meet it’s instant attraction. One would think they would hate each other not burn up the sheets together but alas opposites attract big time and as their completely different worlds try to keep them apart love keeps true.

Alec knows it’s dangerous, what they’re doing, but he is determined to make this relationship work and pushing the boundaries trying to get them going in the right direction and as he learns more about Key’s past he just loves him more. He’d quit his job right now if it wasn’t for this one case he’s working on that’s really gotten under his skin. All he wants is to spoil his man if only he’d let him.

Keyes priority is keeping Alec safe mainly from his own club he doesn’t want to think of what they’d do if they found out about them. Though in his mind he knows the best thing would be for him to leave Alec his heart just won’t let him. Instead of distancing himself he opens himself up even more, Alec owns him heart and soul and even though Key loves his club when they’re together Key finds himself not really caring as much about all the club bull and especially not his good for nothing abusive old man whose nearing the end, good riddance.

Even though things seem impossible these two make it work and in the end Alec and Keyes get their happily ever after. I was very pleased with the ending, gave me all the warm and fuzzies.

ARC Review: The Pirate of Fathoms Deep by Megan Derr

Fantasies aren't usually my thing but I somehow stumbled upon The High King's Golden Tongue and absolutely adored it wherein I then went and got lucky with this ARC (thanks netgalley and publisher!) and I loved every bit of it.

This is Lesto's story, the strong commander with the eye patch who loves to boss around the king. Though he may seem like a hard ass Lesto is in fact quite a softie and I adore him. In the first book there was a fleeting mention of a pirate who had dared punch the high commander in front of hundreds and in this book we hear more.

Shemal is a retired pirate as in he used to be a pirate but has now decided he's done with a life of crime and just wants to live peacefully, but trouble wont let go and when some halfwit thugs wind up on his doorstep asking for help with a kidnapping his life gets upended once more, for the "noble" the idiots thought they'd acquired is none other than the high commander Lesto Arseni, the same man he’d punched and then had a quick and hot encounter with and hasn't been a been able to get out of his mind. There's no way he's letting this sexy Commander get hurt even if helping him means endangering his own life.

Lesto hasn't forgotten the sexy Pirate and now here he is again, this time Lesto's not going to let him run. The pirate of Fathom's deep is his, who cares how much his brother and the king will needle him about it. Once an Arseni makes up his mind there’s no changing it.

Both Lesto and Shemal are such sweetheart loveable characters with hard exteriors like M&Ms!

I really enjoyed this book it was shorter than the first but that just means it had less long winding story and had much more sex, who would have thought The High Commander Lesto Arseni of Fathoms Deep was such a hungry little bottom. I've really enjoyed this series honestly Megan Derr is not an author I've had much interaction with maybe It's time that changed for this series has been great and I plan on reading the next one as soon as It's out.

ARC Review: Where There's A Will by Cari Z.

This is a series I've really enjoyed reading not only because it's an MM read which is a must but as everyone knows, I'm a huge superhero fan Marvel, DC, whatever. Now where the last two books focused on the villains Mad Bombardier and MasterMind this book is all about their unlikely superhero buddy, Freight Train or Craig as he actually prefers to go by.

Being a superhero isn't all it's cracked up to be. Craig didn't really set out to be a superhero but fate just kinda happened. If being widely admired means never getting to touch someone than Craig would have been better off helping his city by being a regular police man.

Then he meets Dr. Mansourian the new scientist who's helping him understand his powers. Craig is instantly attracted to him too bad he can't touch him.

When things go belly up in the hero world, more specifically his "friend" Mr. Fantastic, it's Craig who's in hot water and will need his allies on both sides to be the heroes of this hero.

Ahhh I love hero books! wish there were more MM ones out there but they're far and few between :(

Really fun read I highly recommend.

Wow, I really loved this.

A historical, at least to me since it's before my time. 1986, Apparently when AIDS was sweeping through the gay community and people didn't have the info to be safe and not judge.

Nate just moved to this dying little town in Wyoming from Austin, Texas with his cop dad after his parents split and he's not happy. There's no tennis team here, no swim team only a bunch of small minded red necks and Cody. Cody whom he connects with immediately after meeting him behind a gas station.

Cody is from the worst part of town, living with his mother in a crappy old trailer, they barely have enough money to eat and definitely not enough for new school clothes. His impoverished looks and rumors that follow him about keep him an outcast.

Two kids from completely different worlds have no chance of staying friends but despite having their rough patches they somehow manage to keep what they have alive.

I loved both boys; I love how despite having all the attributes needed to be besties with the "cool" kids Nate rejected their stupid and went with the outcast who is one of the few actually good things in this town. Cody, well i'm rather surprised he's still alive honestly, coming from such depression with his poor mother doing whatever it took to keep them from the street, with everyone looking at him with disdain that's enough to bring most people to drugs or the barrel of a gun.

This book is way more than two boys from opposite sides of the track coming together. Crazy full of feeling, honestly made me tear up a time or three.

ARC Rock N Soul by Lauren Sattersby

So I'd really been looking forward to this book for a while now the blurb just sounded so awesome! :D Didn't disappoint.

Rock N Soul is about a normal guy named Tyler who's working at a hotel where just a couple of months ago a famous rock star od'd he was the one who found the body and now he's walking in to the room for the first time since. But then he finds a ring, the ring, Chris Raiden's ring which he puts on and now he has a narcissistic ghost pestering him.

Chris Raiden didn't live the healthiest of lives what with his heavy drug abuse and pushing away his friends and family he regrets it enough to come back and haunt the poor bellboy and get him to help in making amends.

What starts with as an understandably difficult relationship soon turns into friendship as Tyler can't resist Chris's ghostly charms.

I really did have fun reading this book, Chris is a riot he's what appears to be a spoiled rock star with a dirty drug habit and dirtier sex life but really he's a guy who's in great(not physical)pain and the only way to escape is the hard drugs which end in his death. Then there's Tyler who doesn't really think much of himself, he kept a crazy girlfriend for way longer than he should have just because she occasionally put out even though she was always envisioning someone else and he's stayed at his job for ever because he's never quite found the motivation to go back to college. The two bring out the best in each other with Chris opening up about his life and learning how his coping mechanisms aren't quite the best and Tyler growing up and accepting himself.

I love a good ghost love story and I'm always curious in how the relationship between a ghost and living person will work. The ending of this one still left me with some questions but oh well, live in the present and all that I guess.

Years ago Connor finally escaped the nightmare of his town and made a life for himself as a top notch photographer in New York but now he's back in town for his uncle's funeral and though he plans to sell the family's blueberry farm he pauses when he meets the beautiful tenant, Jedediah.

Jed's stuck in a closet hiding from the closed mindedness of his town and family but meeting the man who holds his future in his hands and sees through his stutter may be worth the heartbreak.

Though there's mutual attraction between them the impending selling of the blueberry farm that's Jed's life stands in between Jed and Connor's happiness. Trying for a long distance relationship is difficult and unlikely to work unless they can somehow meet in the middle.

In a town where the preacher preaches like it's the 1950's change is hard to come by.

I rather enjoyed this book it's full of my favorite fruit! I liked Jed he has such a passion for his work and hides who he is in fear of losing his family and friends. Jed's never known real love and then Connor comes to town and even though their relationship is difficult as is their situation he's finally happy. Connor is pretty cool too even though his only family hates him he doesn't let that break him and comes to reconcile with his once hated hometown for the love of the shy stuttering blueberry farmer.

So I read the first book a few days ago and i was just blown away! Ah I just love super stuff, Hero or Villain, and then Netgalley provided me with book two! Needless to say I devoured it.

In the new adventures of Edward Dingus and his not so evil Villain boyfriend "The Mad Bombardier"....

Edward's short stint at the Abattoir prison and the torture he underwent there left him with empathic projection powers kinda like that dude from twilight. After he's gotten a little control over his powers Edward with a little help from Raul(Bombardier)is trying to become a villain and for his first heist he's gonna hit his former bank hoping that familiarity will help.

Things don't go as smoothly as planned and now he's captured the attention of the big boss evil dude "Maggot" ooooh and Magget wants something from him and if Edward refuses or fails than horrible things will happen to poor Raul.

...Will Edward Dingus prevail? or is he and his bomb loving hunny about to meet a terrible end?

ARC Review: Getting It Right by A.M. Arthur

This is Tag's story. Tag is in the Belonging series and now he got his own book :D

Dr. James Taggert is having a bad night, after hearing the man who led to his sister's death has been released from prison he decides getting drunk is a great idea and when he almost does something really really bad he turns to his best friend Nathan who takes him home and comforts him. The night ends with a kiss that James forgets in the morning but that Nathan can't get out of his head.

Detective Nathan Wolf has felt something for his best friend since college but has always buried it deep and locked it tight but a single kiss frees those feelings he fears. When he confesses his feelings to James, James rejects him, not because he doesn't want him but because he never though that
Nathan, the reason he's never connected with anyone on more than a physical level, could ever want anything other than friendship with him so he pushes him away, something he couldn't regret more.

I really liked this book it had so much going on that I was never bored. Both men have their demons to slay; James is a psychiatrist with the wrong ways of handling his stress and James after getting hurt suffers from nightmares and flashbacks that endanger those around him. Both men are so messed up and at the same time trying to figure out this new relationship between them.

Sure there were a lot of untied strings left but since this is the first book in the series I'm guessing things will get solved in the next book.

ARC Review: Tempest by Lisa Henry and J.A. Rock

In this new installment of Mac & Cheese Mac and Henry as well as Henry's sister Viola are on the run, Hiding out at Mac's parent's house. A crooked lady in the FBI is hunting Mac down ruthlessly. Henry is busy looking for Remy who may have some information that may help Mac clear his name. Meanwhile there's an evil mastermind that Mac never expected, behind it all and out for revenge.

I think this was the most exiting book yet in this series full of evil crazy ladies, Gunfights and a Con artist and flappy armed FBI agent trying to make it work. I love Mac and Henry they're just so cute and I've loved seeing them break down the barriers between them.

Obviously I've been enjoying this series greatly and I want more.

ARC Review: Lone Wolf by Aleksandr Voinov

Hunter Easton is the one behind the magic of Wolf's Landing, he's the one who wrote the books! Now with his agent and fans riding him hard to finish the next book he can't, cursed with major writer's block he can't seem to make anything work. And then his online friend sends him a copy of his Wolf's Landing Fanfic and hallelujah he's saved! The fanfic is better than anything he could have come up with and he simply must make it part of the series.

Kevin is excited when his friend loves his fic and wants to meet up and talk about it then he's shocked to discover that Wolf Hunter is actually the Hunter Easton and to put the cherry on top of the mind numbing shock cake Hunter wants to make Kevin his co-writer and his lil' ole Fanfic into book Eight of the Wolf's Landing Series! Crazy day for Kevin.

Hunter's always been a solitary man but oddly enough having Kevin encroaching in his space doesn't even bother him in fact it feels right. Their Friendship and Chemistry translate well into real life and between working on the series they're working on other stuff in between the sheets ;) Alas sudden fame and fortune may be too much for Kevin to handle, add into that a new relationship and things may be over before they really begin.

There is a really big age gap between the two which really isn't my thing but they make it work. I enjoyed the book well enough but it's not really all that memorable not in comparison to the other books in this series, I guess it just focused too much on the whole writing process than any actual story and other than Kevin having trouble with the sudden changes in his life and Hunter's Writer's block there isn't all that much going on to catch my attention. Really I just want to go back to reading about the actors and their rich and complicated lives not that Hunter's not rich and complicated but yea, actors.

ARC Review: My Cowboy Homecoming by Z.A. Maxfield

Cowboys! That's all the incentive I need. this is the third book in the cowboys series.

Lucho is a sexy Mexican cowboy on the J-Bar Ranch and he's got serious beef with the new hand Tripp who's indirectly responsible for the death of his grandfather but it's hard to hate someone who's just so nice.

Tripp has been under his father's finger all his life and even after going to war and his father to jail still he can't get out from under his influence. He's come home to help his mother who's already lost one son and who's husband is in jail. His mother helps get him a job at the J-Bar Ranch which is run by the gay couple Malloy and Crispin (from the first book) they take him in happily and soon everyone loves him everyone other than Lucho that is.

Just by being his wonderful non evil self helping Lucho who's got a crushed foot via a frightened rescue horse Tripp eventually wears Lucho down and they finally give into that strong attraction that's been zinging between them from the beginning.

I love me some Latino boys in my books so I really love Lucho and Tripp's a good boy given a bad hand in life but he makes it work. Not all that much sex in this book but hey sexy cowboys :D I just love Z.A Maxfield's writing I've loved everything I've read by her and I plan on reading many more.

ARC Review: The Glass Prince by Sandra Bard

Daniel is a lonely mage with powers over glass he has had no real human contact since he was a kid for whenever he touches someone that person is unintentionally treated to glass embedded skin. So naturally when he meets someone who's unaffected by his magic he's curious but then curiosity turns to obsession where-then he ends up unintentionally intentionally kidnapping Eren who apart from being immune to magic is a rather ordinary guy with a girlfriend and and wheelchair bound mother he takes care of.

I found the world this is placed in fascinating but the development of the love between the two MCs just didn't quite cut it for me it was kinda, well, Stockholm syndromeish and the ending was rather abrupt though it had potential to be really something I only give it three stars. Still I enjoyed it well enough and found the whole magic thing interesting I should read more Paranormal.

Being True by Jacob Z. Flores

Being True is about a kid, Tru, who's an outsider never fitting in and believing all the horrible things people say about him. Thinking himself ugly and not worth anything he is more surprised than anyone when the most popular kid in school takes a liking to him. Javi is the star Baseball player and most loved kid in the school even the teachers love him and even though he's happy he's not happy and it isn't until he meets Tru that he starts to figure out what it is he needed.

There's so much I loved about this book first of all the best gal pal shares my name and I just love that :D also Javi is Mexican and I just love to see some diversity in books and hey being that I myself am Mexican bonus! I also grew up in a poor "barrio" like the one Tru and Javi live in so yea I loved seeing all the Mexican culture thrown in.

I just love to read a nice feel good YA book here and there and this is one I really really liked.

ARC: The Working Elf Blues by Piper Vaughn

This is a really cute little Christmas story about an elf who's watched over and loved a man from afar for fifteen years until he couldn't resist anymore and decided to hell with the north pole it was time to follow his heart to the lonely man with the dogs. Not too much angst and a happy ending just how I like 'em.

I just love all the feel good stories that come out during the holiday season :D

ARC Review: The Merchant of Death by Lisa Henry and J. A. Rock

Just as funny and exciting as the first.

Henry's on a crazy mission to find out what's going on at a care facility, a crazy mission that includes lies and a wig. Mac is reluctant to help out since there is no actual hard evidence that there's anything fishy going on but Henry's adamant about the evil of the place. To make things worse Mac's under investigation for some false accusation filed on him and OPR is all over him. not to mention that during all this crazy he's actually supposed to be on medical leave.

I love the two characters, Mac the FBI agent on a diet that aggrieves him to no end and Henry the con artist who on the outside seems like a selfish crook but is actually completely selfless and will do anything for the ones he loves.

This book was so much fun with some cross dressing thrown in :D I'm seriously loving this series and can't wait to read more since it went and ended at a dun dun dun moment.

Mac and Cheese go great together!

ARC Review: The Two Gentlemen of Altona by Lisa Henry and J. A. Rock

This really made me laugh, a lot, and I love to laugh so big plus there. Also one of the main characters is law enforcement and everyone knows that's my thing ;) and there's a little hate to not so hate thing going on and I really like that too. And Okay. Seriously. 5 Stars Love this!

The Two Gentlemen of Altona is about "Mac" an FBI agent trying to get a slippery chameleon of a con artist to testify about the shooting he witnessed and when said slippery chameleon slips right under his nose injuring his rep things becomes personal. Once Mac finally has Henry he has to keep him safe from the hit men after him and the possible snake in his own garden and perhaps hardest of all he somehow has to resist not killing him himself for his absolutely annoying never stopping mouth. All this while he's on a coffee and carbs detox.

Cute and funny with exciting gun shooting and mystery thrown in this book is a delight :D

ARC Review: Bottled Up Secret by Brian McNamara

Brendan is a happy little High School Senior with friends and a big ole secret, He's gay. Just coming to terms with it himself he hasn't told any of his friends also, he has a huge crush on one of his friend's boyfriend, Mark. Mark is cool funny and they get along great and every time they talk it seems like Mark is flirting with him. Does he feel the same about him? or is he just the unconsciously flirt with everyone kind of guy? Turns out feelings are reciprocated and they start dating on the DL but keeping secrets from everyone you care about is hard maybe too hard for their fledgling romance to survive.

I didn't really connect with this book mostly 'cause of the writing style it just felt so vague and not well written. The story had potential, I love High School students coming to terms with their sexuality and exploring new feelings but this story just didn't deliver.

ARC Review: Sacrifice by Brigid Kemmerer

Wow! What a read I feakin' blazed through this I love this series seriously awesome!

Is this the last book? I think so *sigh*. This is Michael's book at last the first short was about Michael and honestly I've been impatiently waiting for more of him ever since. I love Michael he's amazing taking care of his brothers all by himself ever since losing his parents years ago. Things sure aren't easy for him there are guides gunning for him and his family and he tries so hard to keep his brothers safe, taking the brunt of everything on his shoulders. When their home comes under attack they're forced to leave and Michael is forced to separate from them. Now on his own he has to figure out what to do next well next after killing this guide who keeps trying to blow him up at every turn. At least he has Hanna

Hanna now Hanna I like, she's a strong woman a freakin' firefighter for goodness sakes! She's working with a hard situation after getting pregnant at seventeen she now has a five year old son to take care of. She's tired of the men around her trying to control her and she's worried about Michael and why won't he tell her what's going on?

No lies. There will be tears and maybe some throwing of Kindles this book is intense beginning to end amazing yes but heart-wrenching and nerve-wracking. Still worth it.
