ARC Review: Sacrifice by Brigid Kemmerer

Wow! What a read I feakin' blazed through this I love this series seriously awesome!

Is this the last book? I think so *sigh*. This is Michael's book at last the first short was about Michael and honestly I've been impatiently waiting for more of him ever since. I love Michael he's amazing taking care of his brothers all by himself ever since losing his parents years ago. Things sure aren't easy for him there are guides gunning for him and his family and he tries so hard to keep his brothers safe, taking the brunt of everything on his shoulders. When their home comes under attack they're forced to leave and Michael is forced to separate from them. Now on his own he has to figure out what to do next well next after killing this guide who keeps trying to blow him up at every turn. At least he has Hanna

Hanna now Hanna I like, she's a strong woman a freakin' firefighter for goodness sakes! She's working with a hard situation after getting pregnant at seventeen she now has a five year old son to take care of. She's tired of the men around her trying to control her and she's worried about Michael and why won't he tell her what's going on?

No lies. There will be tears and maybe some throwing of Kindles this book is intense beginning to end amazing yes but heart-wrenching and nerve-wracking. Still worth it.

Sinner by Maggie Stiefvater

I was surprised when Maggie said she was gonna do this after she had been so adamantly against continuing the Wolves of Mercy Falls books. I'm crazy happy she did though, I love those books! I love Maggie's writing style she just makes you feel with her words it's beautiful really, only thing that makes them better is listening to them in audio, now that, I love which is why I went out and got this in audio! The narrators did a great job with Cole and Isabelle.

In this lovely companion novel to the Shiver books Cole has returned to Cali to search out Isabelle, ostensibly he's there to be in a TV show hosted by Baby North who's well known for destroying anyone who's ever on her show and with his drugged past he's perfect crash material for her show but Cole's worked hard to get away from his past and he's not about to go back no matter how insistently that past keeps knocking.
Isabelle has problems believing people can stay with how she lost her brother and now her parents marriage on the bend she's falling apart and just can't seem to grasp why Cole would possibly want her. Hiding everything behind her ice queen mask even she wonders if she's capable of feeling. Only Cole seems to understand her if only she'd stop pushing him away.

For a werewolf book there really is way too little shifting going on just Cole trying to escape his life for a few minutes mostly. Would have been nice to see him go wolf and savage the city, yea that would have been nice. Though Cole and Isabelle are cool I still prefer Sam and Grace from the original trilogy there just seems to be more love there or maybe it's just that they're better at expressing their feelings. I wonder If maybe Maggie is open to writing another one of Sam and Grace? *hint hint*

ARC Review: Starstruck by L.A. Witt

I just blazed through this it was so good!

Levi hates Hollywood, he ran away to Washington to escape Hollywood and now here they are, invading his little town and hassling him to come back to acting and even though he swore he'd never go back they're dangling his dream role in front of him, the role he's been dreaming of since he first started acting. He doesn't know how to refuse and when he sees the lead actor he doesn't know if he should.

Carter has admired Levi forever, in fact, he's the reason Carter started acting in the first place and the one that made him realize that he was gay, yea, he may have a slight crush. When he finally meets Levi in person the whole don't meet your heroes thing doesn't stand up. Bonding over their mutual love of indie films the two become close friends but It's hard to stay just friends with them both lusting after each other and they can't be anything more because Levi is so deep in the closet he doesn't want anyone to know they even talk away from the camera and Carter will be no one's dirty secret.

I really loved this book Carter is great I love how brave he is to be out and openly gay in such a cutthroat industry. I'm upset with Levi, upset that it takes him so damn long to figure out how to live for himself instead hiding his self in order to keep others happy worst is that he's trying to keep happy the parents that disapprove of him and the industry who couldn't care less about him. Throughout the book I just wanted to throttle him and make him see the light, the glorious light outside of those closet doors. Seriously though, I'm definitely looking forward to more of this series. Thanks Netgalley for the ARC.

The Blinding Light by Renae Kaye

Jake is having money problems helping his mother with her debt and his three sisters whenever they need it he's at the point where he barely has money to feed himself. Desperate for a job he jumps at the offer to work for a cleaning services company. The agency sets him up with their toughest client, no maid ever lasts more than a couple weeks with him but Jake's desperate. He accepts.

Patrick Stanford was born blind abandoned as a baby and then adopted by a rich man who wanted someone to pass his fortune to he had a pretty privileged life despite the fact that he's blind. Understandably Patrick needs things to be in a specific order, overly anal he runs through maids like they're going out of style and then he gets Jake Manning. They butt heads at first but their irritation with each other can't beat out the raging lust between them and soon enough Jake's helping Patrick with more than just his house. Both have messed up visions of themselves Jake thinking he's not attractive enough or interesting enough for anyone to be interested in him and Patrick believing his blindness too great a deterrent to build a lasting relationship. Despite the views on themselves they both think the other is perfect as is and too good for them.

I really like Jake he's completely self sacrificing practically raising his three sisters on his own while his drug abusing mother was off in her own world and then when his family needs him again he gives up the life he was just beginning to make for himself to come and help them. Patrick is sweet and I love how even though he's blind he hasn't let that make him bitter with life though his manners could use some work, but don't worry, Jake's helping him with that.

I liked this book it was cute, funny and was also pretty hot. I absolutely love Kaye's book Loving Jay so when I saw she had written another book I jumped at it. I can't wait to read more from her.

ARC Review: Country Crush by Shiloh Saddler

I was given this book for an honest review.

I love Country and Rodeo so that's what I really liked about this story. Blake is a Championship team roper which is this:


He would be the one on the right roping the head while his heeler, the second guy, ropes the back legs it's all really cool. Even more impressive is the fact that he does this even after an accident left his left leg paralyzed. He's been having a hard time adjusting to not having use of both legs and having to rely on crutches and a wheelchair it's also affected his relationships which is how he ends up on the website that matches him up with Will.


Will is a country singer, super famous and in the closet he turns to a one night stand finding website where he meets Blake and now after months of texts and calls he arranges for Blake to come and meet him IRL and because he never did tell Blake who he really is Blake sure is shocked when they come face to face for the first time. Their Chemistry is intense and what was meant to be a one night thing may end up being much more.

The story was too short in my opinion it would have been better if it were longer so there'd be more background knowledge on both their careers and how they came to this point in their lives.

The Last Thing He Needs by J.H. Knight

I'm just going to go ahead and agree with the reviews I'm seeing of this book and say that it's beautifully amazingly wonderful.

Tommy was dealt a difficult hand in life. Because of his deadbeat parents he's had to take care of his seven siblings since he was a kid, pretty much forfeiting his own life. Dropping out of school at fifteen in order to take care of his brothers and sisters he's had to do horrible things just to keep food on the table. Not one for trusting others or ever asking for help he at first resents rookie cop Bobby barging into their life but eventually he starts to open up and accept Bobby's love though it takes a tragedy to finally see it.

Have you ever fallen in love with a book character? Because I have. I've completely fallen for Bobby McAlister <3 I've never understood why girls love a bad boy I mean the world is full of douchebags but a genuinely kind man is a hard thing to come by. I just absolutely love Bobby and not just for the fact that's he's a cop though that's a big bonus but because he's just simply a great guy, he's nice to everyone, he just completely loves Tommy and the kids and he sticks around even when Tom goes on his little tirades about not needing anyone. Seriously I Love him!.

I blazed through this book in practically a single sitting and that is extremely rare for me with full length books with my ADD I almost always get distracted by another book and end up taking weeks to finally finish so that in itself really shows how much I liked this book.

Maybe This Time by A.M. Arthur

Donner's been living with his sister and her husband since he watched his partner get killed two years ago. Working as a bartender nights he meets Ezra, a well known man-slut who's flirting he doesn't take seriously.

Ezra is traumatized from his parents attempt to "fix" him of his homosexuality when he was younger and is therefore scared to give up control in any manner. Finding new bed mates each night to make up for the emptiness inside he sets his sights on the cute bartender.

Somehow a one night stand becomes what seems to be a (gasp) relationship. Ezra doesn't do relationships and Donner's too scared to give it another go can they somehow make it work?

This book's pretty good! I loved Ezra and Donner, Ezra I feel bad for. I hate that he went through what he did and didn't get the love he should have from his parents but he survives and finds the love he deserves with Donner who is an amazing guy. Donner feeds the poor voluntarily and is just full of love and acceptance. Seriously Donner is amazing I love him.

This is the sequel to no such thing and we do get a lil' guest appearances from Ale' and Jaime so, yay! And I hear talk of a third book so excitement there!
